Marvel's Merc with a Mouth (I guess I have to say that) is getting yet another title with his name in big lights. Deadpool has always been one of Marvel's most sought  after characters, and to this day has one of the most loyal fanbases of nearly any property in comics. Until recently Deadpool was also one of Marvel's most underutilized characters considering his popularity.

Boy has that changed. With the arrival of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine film, Deadpool has amassed a snowballing amount of mainstream popularity along with pushing his already loyal fanbase into overdrive. And all that accomplished with less than 20 minutes of screen time, give or take, in which we never really got to see Deadpool the character.

Well, if all goes to plan we should see this sword chopping, karate kicking comic in his own film in the next couple of years. Until then, it feels like Marvel is going to give Deadpool a cameo in every title outside of the two he currently has, and the third on the way.

Who would have thought that this not so wise-cracking mercenary that made his first appearance in New Mutants #98 would ever become one of Marvel's most coveted characters. So I thought I would take a second to show just how many #1 issues that this guys has had the pleasure of calling his own, at least in part. And all this from a B-list character! Oops, I didn't mean it.

On July 1 Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth hits shelves with a plot taking a nod from the current Marvel Zombies 4 in which our Deadpool stumbles upon the Zombie Deadpool from the Zombie-verse, which oddly enough is just a head (you gotta love the bite plate in the cover for issue #1!). And The Merc with 2 Mouths is born!

Cool costume, cool weapons, and a healing factor to put Wolverine to shame, but I think the real draw is that you don't know weather he is going to beat down, or get beat down. But before either happens, he's going to kill you with jokes from Mork and Mindy, and Welcome Back Cotter.
