Meet The Author
Hey guys! Adam S here. Native New Yorker, but proud Chicagoan, I've been reading comics ever since I was a kid. I studied writing at Purchase College in Westchester, NY, and moved to the best city in the Multiverse in 2005. I love to hear from comic fans, but I hate Facebook and I don't Tweet. So email me at 2adams@thecomichour.com.

This week's pick serves a dual purpose.
I'm not only picking this book because of what I think is the product of a great collaborative effort between Duane Swierczynski and Travel Foreman, but also because it is at something of an empass. The book will suspend publication for a while for a series of one-shots featuring the Immortal Weapons. I look forward to that, actually, because I have really enjoyed Swierczynski's one-shots that have been peppered throughout the series and I do like how he has developed the weapons from what could have been a sort of bland "Bloodsport"-type arc into a nice supporting cast of characters.
So, while this is not dire straights for the book, it should be a call to arms. This book needs us reading it. More of us. Lots of us. Tell you're friends and relatives, neighbors, lovers, and facebook non-entities. If you're looking at your pull list wondering if you should finally drop that JSA or Wolverine Origins book the answer is a resounding "yes."
And you should replace it with The Immortal Iron Fist.
Danny Rand is a complex, interesting, entertaining, funny, and (to use a Ted-ism) sick looking character and I don't think it will be long before we all stop saying that the current team is almost as good as Brubaker/Fraction and Aja and start saying that they are just as bloody good and what a hell of a job they did at making this book their own.
-Incidentally if you haven't bought the first Brubaker/Fraction/Aja Iron Fist trade you really should-
So, a great book to pick up this week and one that you should definitely start taking a look at consistently. It's more than a Kung Fu action book, it's a superhero book with a superhero who very often kicks people in the face.
If that's not an A+ concept, I don't know what is
Pick it up!
See you in the Future,
AS
