Meet The Author

Hey guys!  Adam S here.  Native New Yorker, but proud Chicagoan, I've been reading comics ever since I was a kid.  I studied writing at Purchase College in Westchester, NY, and moved to the best city in the Multiverse in 2005.  I love to hear from comic fans, but I hate Facebook and I don't Tweet.  So email me at 2adams@thecomichour.com.

Sigh.

I wanted to pop back in on this book after dropping it during Geoff Johns' run.  From all the feedback I've been hearing about it, I'm not the only one who's still clinging to it for reasons unknown.  I'm a loyalist or a sucker, I can't remember which.

Well this week I'm a sucker.  I guess I have to admit to myself that nothing in the near future is going to match up to the fresh and fun style and tone that issues 1-12 had.

The problem here is that this team is never progressing.  I have to say that for ten issues what has been going on in the JSA is busy-ness.  Between the Earth-2 crossover and the Black Adam storylines what happened in these books was movement.  Constant goings-on, but never any real work on developing character relationships.

The "new team" with all of the youngsters like Cyclone and Wildcat Jr. have remained the new team with these youngsters seemingly trailing along with whatever new tragedy seems to befall the JSA.  It's like watching a Mr. Magoo episode, seeing them walk blindly through a deadly construction site, sidestepping falling lodes and walking from one flying support beam to another, never really a part of the action around them.

And it would be funny if it wasn't so...not.

Why can't any book with "justice" in the title hold on to a good storyline?  What's wrong with justice? Let's have some.

But not this week.  Save your money.

Not Interested!

See you in the Future,

-AS
